
Biography
Tobie OpenShaw
Tobie is a South African documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Taipei, Taiwan for over 23 years. His work, mostly on Taiwan cultural topics has been seen on channels such as National Geographic, Discovery, AL Jazeera and The Weather Channel.

University
At university, Tobie was an active member of an amateur dramatics society, where he played in and directed various plays for the stage.
He has also appeared in minor roles in television productions and commercials, and has directed several short fiction films.
Taiwan
Tobie is also involved in several community organizations, with stints as Chairman of the Board of Taipei Red Room Association,and on the selection committees of both the Urban Nomad Film Festival and the Taiwan International Ethnographic Film Festival, and founder of the Taipei Short Film Development Project.


POST PANDEMIA
TIME TO REDEFINE
While working as an actor in Toronto and touring TRUNK!, Kaeden began suffering from a long-term shoulder injury.
The injury prevented him from continuing to work and, needing to find a new means of income, Kaeden returned to teaching by moving to Taiwan.
Since moving in 2019, Kaeden has gradually rehabilitated his shoulder and proudly re-debuted as a performer.
